It is not every day that we get to host a James Beard Award Nominee for a book signing. Join us in welcoming Elizabeth Blau, who will be signing her new cookbook Honey Salt: A Culinary Scrapbook from 10am-12pm on Wednesday, July 10th.
Named after Elizabeth Blau’s and her husband and partner, Kim Canteenwalla’s, first restaurant established in 2012, “Honey Salt is a nod to the pure culinary core that the couple embraces and the underlying power that food can offer in our lives. “Honey Salt is really about family. It’s about home, it’s about community,” Blau says.” Moreover, according to Blau, “one of her favorite chapters of the book is Cape Cod because…we don’t just make dinner. First, we go pick blueberries in the morning, and then at low tide we go and dig clams. And then in the afternoon, at high tide we pull the lobster traps. And so, it’s really farm to foraging for a meal that kind of creates the experience.”
Honey Salt was named one of the best cookbooks of 2018 in Food & Beverage Magazine: https://www.fb101.com/2018/12/best-cookbook-of-2018-honey-salt-food-drink/
Honey Salt is a culinary scrapbook devoted to friends, family and community, featuring nearly 300 pages of family recipes, restaurant favorites and expert tips and tricks for the avid foodie. Influenced by the countless meals they have shared in their own home over the years, Honey Salt Food and Drink invites readers to share journeys through Cape Cod, Vancouver, Santa Barbara, the Okanagan and Italy as Elizabeth Blau and husband Kim Canteenwalla hunt for truffles, pick blueberries and dig for clams; each with recipes that have inspired this restaurant's one-of-a-kind menu. More than just a cookbook, there are sections dedicated to their son Cole, hosting a dinner party, and fresh, seasonal cocktails.
