Kids-Create: The Boy Who Loved Maps by Kari Allen

Calling all story-loving, curious, and creative kids! Kids-Create Storytime is designed with children’s inquisitive nature and imagination in mind.

We have paired some of our favorite books with hands-on activities that are enriching and, most importantly, fun. The experience is geared toward children 5-8 years old. Parents are welcome to explore the bookstore if their children are comfortable with them doing so; however, we request that parents remain on the premises during the event. Three and four year olds are invited to attend with an adult chaperone.

Advance registration is highly suggested. $15 admission includes story, craft take-away, and a $5 Brewster Book Store coupon.

This week we’re reading: The Boy Who Loved Maps by Deb Pilutti

Description: This enchanting picture book about a map-making boy who is stumped when a girl asks him for a map of the "perfect place" helps readers appreciate the charms of their own neighborhood--and even shows them how to make a map of it!

Activity: Children will learn the art and science of cartography while playing games and creating their own maps.
